This blog goes with the blog "One day in Paris" the artists statement said that his "one day in paris" was inspired by this music video, so I utubed it and decided to put it up. The presentation was interesting, very different from what I am used to seeing and enjoying. But I think thats what makes it so great - it is a unique idea. . .

One Day In Paris from Max Appel on Vimeo.

What the artist had to say about his piece: "4 guys and 1 lady from dusseldorf, germany, gone crazy during a short trip to paris.
it is like a videodiary or more a moving photobook.
i recorded the best moments of the day with "a music video style", inspired by the dance "tectonic" performed in the musicvideo 'yelle - a cause des garcons'."

I liked the style of this video and I really enjoy the fact that this is a european short film. I think its pretty neat to see what people on the otherside of the world are doing and that we are all so connected through the internet.
The flow of the film was interesting, I liked the shots and how it was edited together. I am sure that all the participants in this film had a great time with this project.

Passion from mr. heydary on Vimeo.

This is an Iranian pop music video. I posted it on my blog due to the fact that I feel the videography is great for a short film. I also enjoy the diversity of language and presentation style. I love diversity, and I feel that accknowledging the beauty in the differences of people is an admirable thing to do. Though I have no idea of what this artist is singing about - other than Passion - I really enjoy the style of the film. The color, the lighting, the angles, the location of the performer, the cropping style in the cinemantagrophy, I enjoy all of those qualities in this short film.

NO INSPIRATION from Elena Molchanova on Vimeo.

We've all experienced the pain of creative inspiration when you just sit and wait for it to come.. This video is a perfect representation of what - like writers block- is considered to be creative blocked pertains to, feelings wise. I thought the quality of the stop-motion was excellent, especially with the flipping of the pages. The repitition was slightly irritating but then again so is creative block. but I do like the conclusion, inspiration will come, I wish it was a little longer with the head shots but in all I liked the concept of this short film.

That 70's show is my favorite tv show. It displays a great sense of humor and I love to laugh. I feel that the shots aquired in this show are excellent considering the fact that they are professionally done; and how they are edited together make for an interesting and entertaining 'short film.'

So I figure since I have seen signs all over campus about the swine flu that I would post a slight educational video about what it is and why it is spreading so fast. you can tell that this video is not professionally done, therefore, its not visually in my favor; but, it does relay valid information which ups the quality of this film for me. I hope people will watch this video and take to heart how serious this flu can become. So wash hands and stay informed! :)

So now that we've all had the opportunity to shoot a documentary I thought this clip would be the best to discuss. He makes a valid point on the fact that it takes alot of time to create and produce a finalized project, but otherwise I feel like he rambled a bit, ha.. most of the shots were boring, it looks like he just cropped then uncropped.
But anyway, accomplishing the documentary that my team and I produced was a great feeling, and Im proud of the fact that we have the knowledge to create a documentary and the ability to present it in a somewhat appealing way. :)
